Seeing a need for quality constructed, affordable furniture in the marketplace, J.F.Y. Design Concepts was established. With a background in Interior Design and an emphasis in furniture construction, J.F.Y. Design Concepts has observed that the furniture being manufactured today have been designed with cosmetics in mind rather than it’s construction.
There is “custom quality” furniture available in the marketplace, but these “one of a kind” pieces are often labor intensive, thus putting them out of the price range of the average consumer.
J.F.Y. Design Concepts also has observed that though rich in quality materials and finishes, etc. in some of these custom pieces, shortcuts are taken in construction quality.
Rather than focus on the cosmetics in design, J.F.Y. Design Concepts, like the “Shakers” have instead focused on its construction.
Unlike the Shaker approach, J.F.Y. Design Concepts has looked into ways to mass produce top-of-the-line joinery in the framework to make quality constructed furniture more affordable.
The Versa-Cabinet® design concept was developed with this emphasis in mind.
